Tips for Visiting Jim Corbett National park

Location & Accessibility :

Jim Corbett Park is a wild life sanctuary which is located in Ramnagar in the state of Uttarakhand., around 280 Kms from Delhi. From Delhi it is well connected by roads. There are limited options from air and rail. The nearest railway station is Ramnagar.

About :

1. This wild life sanctuary was formed in 1936 and was earlier named as Hailey National Park. The main purpose of creating this wild life sanctuary was to protect the endangered Bengal Tiger.

2. Now it is a home to many different types of animals, birds, plants etc. It is named after Jim Corbett who played a very important role in forming it.

3. It comprises of about 201.1 sq mi area of hills, riverine, grasslands and lakes.

Tips :

1. It is best advisable to book well in advance due to heavy booking.

2. Try to go during the months of December-February as during these months the climate is best for a safari.

3. You can stay in various hotels that are well known like Infinity resort, Corbett Hideaway and the Golden Tusk.

4. There are various rules to be followed like you cannot take your pets to the safari, you cannot get out of the jeep during safari, you cannot throw of any food material from

5. jeep after eating during safari, driving inside the park is not allowed after sunset.
