They encompass all those things that don’t consume fossil fuels. They are widely available and environment friendly. They cause little or almost no pollution.

1. Solar Energy :

It is one of the most widely used alternative sources of energy across the world. It is not only used for mechanic purposes but also for drying clothes and also used by plants for photosynthesis. Its use should increase as it has much more advantages attached to it that its disadvantages.

2. Wind Energy :

It is another very efficient source of energy. A single windmill can power the crop irrigation, a family energy needs, and water pumping and electrical lights. Presently we also witness the building up of wind mill farms. Gujrat is believed to have a lot of potential regarding this.

3. Geothermal Energy :

It is referred to as the energy derived from inside the earth. It is completely clean and renewable. It is taken out with the help of heat pumps which take up the energy present inside the earth in the form of magma. United States is believed to be the largest producer of geothermal energy. It is also cost saving. The downsides to it are that it can’t be installed anywhere, it releases harmful gases also it makes the area prone to earthquakes.

Other forms of alternative energy sources include Hydrometric energy (energy from moving water), Biomass Energy, Ocean Energy and Hydrogen energy.
It should be in everyone’s interest to see that more forms of alternative energy are adopted for use and make our world a better place.
